The Scoop

I have been redesigning the blog. Can you believe that in November I will have been creating content for this blog for 10 years? It started out as a creative outlet and somehow, I just kept going. Sure, I had dreams it would take off and be something special. But you know, it is special! Special to me. Here I have went from the age of 53 to now 63 and I still feel like I have something to share. It is a struggle sometimes because the voices in my head tell me, it’s time to put this blog to bed.

I have been thinking though. Maybe it is time to stop trying so hard. I am on most days, happy to go fresh faced and casual but I feel like I need to do more when I do a photo shoot for the blog. I don’t do close-ups anyway because who cares? I’m just another face in the crowd. But in the pictures for this post, I am makeup free except for moisturizer, mascara on upper lashes and a little lip color. My hair was washed the night before and I went to bed with it wet. So, I just put in a few quick curls. And I’m ok with this.

For the last few weeks, I have been taking a break from all my lotions and potions. Sometimes I feel like I am poisoning myself with all the face/skin creams, self-tanners and cosmetics. I need a break. There is something about just being natural and relaxing with who I am. It feels good.

Adding same boots fully stocked as of this morning (last night they were sold out) and options for more boots. Also linking same jacket (it was fully stocked but if it runs out they usually restock fairly quickly) and a few dress options. Linking same bag too!

P.S. I just ordered the boots in black (I sized up half size in both pairs giving pleanty of room for socks if I wanted them but felt perfect without socks) and I found the jacket in black and ordered it too (ordered my true size in both colors small). Linking them first.

My Look

But let’s move on to my look here! I’m not ready to give up fashion completely. But things have changed for me. I have not shopped much this summer compared to normal. I have become more content with all the fun things I have collected over the years.

Here I am wearing a dress that is a few years old, along with the most fun jacket. It is corduroy but still light weight. I adore the cropped and boxy cut too. And the color is so perfect for the coming autumn season. Now these boots are a wild card. I really wasn’t thinking I would get western boots this time around (on trend again). But I saw these and they were inexpensive and I thought they would be good to try out and see what I thought. And OMG, I love them. They are not high quality but they look and feel amazing anyway. They would not hold up to heavy use (like on the farm ha ha!) but they are perfect for outings here and there. I am so excited about them that I think you will probably be seeing them a lot this fall. I am pretty sure I will order them in black too. My bag is another super fun find from a few weeks ago.
