Lake Style In The Mountains

The Scoop

As the world seems more crazy I feel more comfortable with my blog work to take a break from it all. I just go to my happy place and pretend life is normal if only for an hour or two. I go back and forth as I have read many other bloggers do as to if its appropriate to keep moving along when everything is such a mess. But at the end of the day and after talking to others I think its good to insert some of your normal life into the chaos. For some its the best path through these times. So here I am talking about fashion, flowers, food, fitness, dogs and my simple life. Remembering to be grateful, help out where I can and keep hope alive that, “this too shall pass.”

My Look

This is a look I put together one day last week with no intention of doing a shoot. It was comfy and kept me warm in the cool temperatures and was summery looking. We live just a mile away from a fabulous lake and it was perfect for a drive around the lake and maybe sitting on the beach in a secluded area with a picnic. Actually once I had it on I thought it was so fun I wanted to share it.

The top is really cute and it is made of a fabric that gives you sun protection. It has the cutest zipper pocket across the back and the colors are so me. I have this top in a really fun blue pattern too. Every thing is old. The jeans are from a company called Nasty Gal. Ha ha. I remember how embarrassed I was to go to the post office to pick up the package. Mail is not delivered to our house in the mountains because of the snow so everyone has to have a PO Box. I loved the boyfriend jeans so much I got two pair. And I wear them around the house often because they are comfy and kind of rebelish! My leather flip flops are old from the Gap also something that I got in multiples in both the nude and black colors. My hat is sort of new from Walmart. It is distressed and comes in so many colors. I have it in tan, white and brown. It is such a cute way to add personality to a look. My little bag is so old I only know I got it at a Macy’s. Oh and I am thinking I am a mug addict or so my husband has told me. This one is cute and I find I drink water all the time when I carry it around with me.

Shaky Ground

So my hair is bugging me a lot. I have not seen my stylist since last December. I cut my bangs a couple of weeks ago and got brave enough to start looking on YouTube videos about how to cute your own hair. I learned that I’m not ready for that yet. It doesn’t look like it would be doable for me. So I have to keep trying to work with what I have. In my head I think of an old witch with long hair. Gosh I hope things chance soon. But I am pretty sure this is a long haul event. And hats are going to become my best friends!
