Hey Gang!

Hey Gang!

Well today with the help of a friend (Kim a kind reader of our blog community) reminded me I have been MIA for a while. Bless her for reaching out to me because she reminded me how much I enjoy being a part of this long-distance group of amazing people.

And so, I shook myself out of the fog I have been living in for a few months and created this post. Part of me feels it is wrong to add to all the noise on the Internet, but the other part of me realizes that this blog that I have working on since 2013 is in some ways, my story. Not all the things in my life are reported but some of the most wonderful things, indeed are right here. I have spent hours and hours over the years, coming up with ideas, taking pictures, doing projects, fussing over fashion, cooking, fitness, dogs, life and more. It’s been a labor of love.

The other day, I decided to start another sourdough starter but I left the recipe at the other house. So, I popped onto the blog and searched sourdough and sure enough I had posted my recipe. I use this blog often as a record book for weather, events, recipes, outfit ideas and so much more.

Also, you know, I am an extreme introvert. I love people but I have a hard time interacting and joining in group things. Here I feel free to be me and accepted by all of you. I so wish I had more extroverted tendencies but through this blog, I can fit in. I learned over the years to behave more extraverted when necessary but it doesn’t come easily.

So, thank you all for being here for me. I hope I can bring you a laugh, thought or idea occasionally!

My Look

Now on to some of what has been going on around here. First, the picture up top? That is my mode of style for several months. So casual it is boring. I have lost my interest in fashion to some degree. But I love a good casual look. And of course, brown has been a fun color this season.

Projects

I have been doing a lot of painting over the summer and fall and have plans for more. I feel the need for color and so have taken on some big jobs for myself. I enjoy doing it, it is a fun challenge and it usually turns out so pretty. When I see a completed wall, I feel a since of accomplishment and real joy.

Below on right is the wall I did a year ago and after loving it so much I started doing the rest of the walls. The picture on the left is the completed wall.

Our Weather

Below is a picture out our windows of winter in Arizona. I think we are getting about two days this year. It has been rainy but unseasonable warm. I am still taking walks in shorts! We live at the base of the Superstition Mountains. It is beautiful!

Outfits

Here are a couple of recent looks. I did selfies so not good quality but they are of a pair of slacks I got this fall. They are so cute with a white strip of fabric and tie at the waist. They are so comfortable too. In one look I wore a black sweater and in the other I wore a grey sweater. I would share them but they are no longer available.

Our Entry

Below are pictures of our entry that I painted also. That color is so delicious I keep painting with it.

Up Next?

Below is our piano room which is on my list to paint next. I have not settled on a color however Artificial Intelligence tells me a Terracotta would work well with the color I am using on the walls in the entry and family room. They are all an open floor plan so I want there to be a flow in the color. The jury is still out.

Also, I plan to paint our bedroom. I think it is next before the piano room. I am thinking of pulling a tan or color out of the chairs to use. Right now, this room is way too neutral for my taste. My bedroom at the other house is so gorgeous in color (it’s called something like crochet blue-kind of a dusty blue) that my husband and I both instantly relax when we walk in. I want that for this room.

So that’s it for this post. Next up will be an update on fitness. I have been working on some things for over two months now and I will share how it is going. I tell myself, its a journey. Am I right?

I would love to hear from you if anyone wants to check in with me. How are things going, what are you working on or planning? What do you want to hear from me? I expect I will only be doing one post a week for the rest of the winter (Fridays). I am so busy I find it hard to get everything done. I also need to start the Sunday Newsletter back up.

Peace!

Cheryl
