A Little Fall Decor

The Scoop

I thought I had more pictures of fall decor but I can’t find them right now. But these are the most descriptive of my style this year. Very low key, subtle drops of fall sprinkled here and there.

I hung a wreath on the mirror on my mantel along with a couple of stacked pumpkins and a leather leaf garland. On the coffee table I stacked a couple of old books of poetry by T. S. Elliot, a small flower arrangement, glass pumpkin and candle. My colors are mostly earth colors in greens, muted oranges and browns.

I will share more with you later about the wall painting I did this summer. This new color gives the room a warm vibe.

Living Room

I got a new washable rug in greens and pumpkin tones and put a thick rug pad underneath to give it a soft comfortable feel. And I picked up an ottoman for my feet. I also got a beautiful fireplace screen with a peaceful scene of Pine trees and deer. A basket with an autumn blanket on one side of the fireplace balanced the cute scarecrow, pumpkin and candle on the other side.

A few pillows and blankets around the room makes me want to sit here and relax forever. I added a few lights to a hurricane lamp for some sparkle.

Entry

We have a very wide entry way and I wanted to give it a country club feel so Ipainted the walls a moody green color. I set up a table with the captains chairs from my dinning table set and then created a gallery wall with art that I have found a thrift shops and sales over the past couple of years.

Dining Room

The same goes for the dining room, just a few nods to autumn set around. I painted this over the summer too. I love all the moody colors and always have.

I love collecting old books, dishes and glassware to go along with my many antiques picked up over the years.

Collecting Books

This book is one I found a few weeks ago. It is a first edition illustrated (the first edition had no illustrations) copyright 1947 of Little Women. It is in beautiful condition but without the paper cover. This is a favorite book of mine so I was amazed when I ran across it at the thrift shop for a few dollars. I spend lots of time looking for books like this. It is such a quiet pleasure. I am building a beautiful collection of fabulous pre-loved books.

And with that I say goodbye to summer . . . and share a feeling that comes over me now and again as I get older.

Linking things I could find to share exact as in this post.

Thanks for stopping by!

Peace!
